One thing about Marites and Emerson, they know what they want in an investment property and they’re not afraid to act. Okay, so that’s two things.
“We’d been looking for about a year, although we’d never been out to this neighbourhood.” Marites laughs. “But the really funny part was that as we pulled into the parking lot, I heard a text come in from one of my two cousins in Edmonton. They were both also looking for investment properties in Vancouver, and she’d just sent me the link to Hayer Town Centre asking me to check it out for them.”

Marites immediately called back. “We’re sitting right outside. Do you want to go on a video walkthrough with us?”

The perfect space

Everything about the presentation centre impressed the three potential buyers. And when Marites and Emerson stepped into the two-bedroom show home, it was definitely love at first sight. “The spaciousness, the way the rooms are designed, and just how well thought out everything is—it was perfect,” Marites says, adding the kitchen and bathrooms are “awesome.”

There was one feature, though, that instantly sealed the deal—the solarium. No tiny afterthought, this bonus space almost doubles the size of the already generous living room. And the coolest part? The glass-panel windows on both sides completely retract into the wall, creating the feeling you’re sitting on an open porch. “I’ve never seen any condo with a balcony or deck like this,” Marites says. “It’s absolutely brilliant what they did.”

The couple signed a sales contract on the spot for a top-floor two-bedroom home. Marites’s cousin also purchased on the spot, and a week later, her second cousin bought as well. Hayer Town Centre had become a family tradition.

“Both my cousins are coming out for a visit in September,” Marites says. “It’s going to be so exciting for all of us to see it together. And, if at some point in the future we decide to downsize, this would be a perfect retirement home for Emerson and me.”
