For half a century Coventry Homes has shaped how Edmontonians live their lives through dynamic home design, and as the multi-awarded homebuilder celebrates its 50th anniversary on June 4th, that commitment to excellence is stronger than ever.

Coventry’s story is very much Edmonton’s as well, as the builder – founded by Henri Rodier in 1976 – has been deeply involved in making lives better for everyone, and it starts with the thoughtfully designed homes they build.

“Over the past five decades, we’ve learned that a home is more than just four walls,” says Tara Van Horn, Director of Marketing & Communications at Coventry Homes. “It’s where life happens. And that’s why the trends shaping the 2026 market focus on flexibility, value, and long-term comfort, all qualities we’ve proudly built into every Coventry home.”

A 50-year legacy

Coventry Homes has been a significant part of the homebuilding fabric of the Edmonton region – through the ups and downs of the economy, the ever-shifting design trends, and the unpredictability of the local homebuilding industry. And through it all, Coventry Homes has held on to its core belief that they are building homes meant for families – and families need flexibility.

“Family has always been at the heart of Coventry Homes both in the homes we build and in the people behind them,” says Van Horn.

“Our biggest accomplishment is helping thousands of Edmonton-area families find a home that not only fits but enhances their lifestyle,” she adds. “From first homes to forever homes, we’ve had the privilege of building spaces where milestones are celebrated, and memories are made.”

In 2026, they are celebrating their own milestone with special events, new home designs, and enticing incentives that benefits not just their customers, but the entire community, as well.

“For 50 years, Coventry has championed the idea that quality homes should also be affordable. In 2026, this commitment remains stronger than ever. Edmonton continues to offer some of Canada’s most affordable new homes, and we’re dedicated to delivering designs that maximize space, functionality, and value, helping you get the most out of your investment.”

Coventry’s commitment to enhancing Edmonton’s communities also extends to animals that are in need. Coventry Homes hosted its 15th Annual Paws & Claws Gala at the Edmonton Expo Centre this past April in support of the Edmonton Humane Society.

$200,000 was raised at the gala, bringing the total raised through the years to $2 million. Reaching this milestone speaks to something Coventry Homes has understood for 50 years: that the strongest foundations aren’t just built with lumber and concrete – they’re built with community, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to showing up for others.

Made in Edmonton

Founded by Henri Rodier, Coventry has grown from a family business into one of Edmonton’s most respected homebuilders. Along the way, growth has remained a family affair, with Henri continuing as CEO while his youngest son, Mark, now serves as President. Together, they have kept the company grounded in the same family values that shaped it from the very beginning.

Some of our team members have been with us for decades, and several have brought their own family members into the business, which speaks to the culture we’ve built,” Van Horn says. “Fifty years later, we’re proud to still be a local Edmonton, family company.”

Over that time, Coventry Homes has received dozens of industry awards recognizing its design excellence, innovation, leadership, and commitment to customer satisfaction. “While we’re honoured by those achievements, what truly drives us is continuing to raise the bar. Now in our 50th year, we’re more inspired than ever to deliver homes that stand out for their design, their quality, and the lives they help create.”

What has always inspired Coventry Homes is helping the thousands of Edmonton-area families throughout the years find a home that truly fits their lifestyle.

“Today’s buyers are thinking long-term about how their homes will support changing lifestyles and evolving family needs,” she says. “Whether it’s a home office, an extra bedroom for a growing family, or a separate side entrance for multigenerational living, flexibility has become an expectation. Coventry Homes offers customization options designed to grow and adapt with homeowners over time.

History in the making

Coventry Homes has always been committed to creating homes that fit the family’s needs, and stylish flair was always part of the formula.

“We’re passionate about designing floor plans that are flexible and work for real people and their lifestyles,” Van Horn says. “We also believe that high grade finishes and fixtures shouldn’t be upgrades.

Our commitment to quality has earned us a strong reputation that has been recognized across the home building community.”

Their designs have grown with the times and have adapted as the needs of Edmonton’s families have shifted. “Coventry’s very first showhome was charmingly traditional with a closed off layout and formal dining rooms, reflecting what families wanted at the time,” Van Horn says.

“Today, our showhomes are all about connection, flow, and flexibility. Open-concept spaces, dedicated home offices, and thoughtfully integrated technology have become the new standard. While our style has evolved to reflect modern living, our commitment to craftsmanship and livability has never changed,” she adds.

Currently, Coventry builds in 18 communities across the greater Edmonton region with 12 showhomes that bring their flair for dramatic designs and practical functionality to the forefront.

Two new showhomes have opened in 2026 so far – the Archer in Spruce Grove in the community of Easton and the Cassius in NE Edmonton in the community of Marquis. Two more showhomes will open in Ardrossan and Timber Heights to close out the year.

“We are particularly excited for our first Net Zero showhome in Timber Heights in Southwest Edmonton,” Van Horn says.

New Net Zero initiative

One of the most exciting projects on the horizon for Coventry Homes in 2026 is its new Net Zero showhome coming to the community of Timber Heights.

“While we have offered green building technologies for years in Lifestyle packages such as ‘The Radiant One’, which offers different levels of solar panel packages, this showhome provides us the opportunity to truly show homeowners the extent of what Coventry can offer in terms of green living,” Van Horn says.

“This home represents the next step in energy-efficient living, designed to produce as much energy as it consumes over the course of a year. It will showcase advanced construction techniques, superior insulation, and high-performance mechanical systems that work together to deliver lasting comfort and sustainability.”

Coventry Homes’ unwavering dedication to innovative design, personalized experiences, and community engagement has been key to their growth in the last five decades and will continue to guide the way in the next 50 years and beyond.

As Coventry Homes celebrates this milestone year, one thing is clear: this is a company that is constantly looking forward. With a legacy of 50 years, and a deep connection to the local market, Coventry Homes proves that half a century of experience, paired with a forward-thinking approach, is the perfect recipe for homes that are as personal as they are enduring.
