Matt Spence Duncan Harwood Custom Homes emerged from two families with a passion for quality design and enhancing the landscape of small towns and communities. Each family brings unique experience and vision to the business, resulting in a dynamic team that brings our clients’ dream home into reality. Matt Spence spent much of his early years in various construction jobs, woodshops and renovation projects. Through these experiences, Matt developed a passion for fine carpentry and residential design. This led to him pursuing an Architectural Technology diploma at Fanshawe College while also obtaining a BCIN license which allowed him to start designing homes in Ontario while he continued his studies. After graduating, Matt honed his skills and became a successful Project Manager with one of the top construction management firms in the country. This unique opportunity allowed him to work with the industry’s best on multi-million dollar projects, learning to balance quality, budget and schedule.
